SPOTIFY
In 2018, we achieved a landmark milestone in the digital audio industry. I served as the host and producer of "Equipaje de Mano: Edición Rusia 2018," the first-ever Spotify Original podcast series produced entirely for the Argentine market. Beyond being a debut, this project represented a fundamental strategic move for Spotify, serving as a key launchpad ahead of its official landing in the country. Having been a pioneer in commercial podcasting since 2009 and streaming since 2011, I was able to lead an innovative "auditory road trip" that merged the thrill of the World Cup with the world's leading podcasting platform.
The project’s execution required relocating to the FIFA World Cup host cities for exhaustive daily coverage. The production consisted of 20-minute episodes covering every detail of the tournament, including on-site presence at every Argentine National Team match and the most high-profile fixtures in Moscow. In my dual role as host and producer, I was responsible for documenting not only the sporting aspects but the very essence of the event directly from the front lines.
Through this "auditory adventure," I designed an immersive sonic journey that allowed listeners to experience Russia’s vibrant atmosphere, local customs, and human stories. This approach transformed traditional coverage into a vivid, personal experience, consolidating my expertise in managing global-scale multimedia projects. The series did more than report match results; it brought the World Cup experience to life for a massive digital audience.
To understand the magnitude of this milestone: this project was like planting the first flag in unexplored territory. Long before podcasting became a staple of daily consumption in Argentina, we were already mapping the landscape, proving that digital audio could be just as powerful and immersive as traditional television.
